Omsk City Day promises an exciting lineup of activities for its residents and visitors this year. Among the events are the Siberian International Marathon (SIM), a speed wood chopping tournament, a "Diskoteki Avarii" concert, and the "Flora" event.

The Siberian International Marathon, set to take place in 2025, aims to attract high-level professional athletes and enhance sports competition by increasing its prize fund to 4.95 million rubles, an increase of 1.4 million from the previous year. The top six men and women in the main marathon distance (42.195 km) will receive cash prizes in the overall standings, with the winner taking home 750,000 rubles, second place receiving 500,000, and third place receiving 250,000. Prizes for 4th to 6th places will range from 150,000 to 50,000 rubles.

In a significant development, the Russian Championship in marathon for athletes with disabilities using sports wheelchairs will take place in Omsk for the first time. The prize fund for the top three places ranges from 25,000 to 100,000 rubles. Additionally, bonuses of 100,000 rubles each are provided for setting a new marathon or Omsk region record.

The organisers are particularly keen on beating the marathon record set by Ufa athlete Eduard Tukhbatullin in 1993 (2:13:02). Top Kenyan runner Julius Tarus Kiprono, with a personal record of 2:07:35, will compete in Omsk this year.
