Foreign Military Attachés to Gather in Thailand's Border Regions During Cambodia Conflict Standoff

Thailand's Deputy Minister of Defence, Gen Nattapol Nakpanit, has announced plans to invite foreign military attachés to the Thai-Cambodian border. This move aims to allow international observers to directly witness the civilian casualties and damage that Thailand attributes to Cambodian military actions, thereby providing evidence of Cambodian ceasefire breaches.

Gen Nattapol confirmed he issued the directive to the Royal Thai Army last night. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the armed forces have compiled evidence against Cambodia, including aerial photographs from GISTDA and the private sectors.

The Army has vowed a decisive response if Cambodia continues ceasefire violations. Gen Nattapol vehemently condemned what he described as Cambodia's violations of the agreed ceasefire, stating that Thailand would "protest and communicate this to the international community."

While the list of participating countries is still being compiled, specific efforts are underway to coordinate with Malaysia for their presence. The Thai military is inviting foreign military attachés to visit the Thai-Cambodian border to witness the civilian casualties and damage attributed to Cambodian military operations.

The core principle of the ceasefire was for all units to remain stationary until the results of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) meeting are announced. Gen Nattapol has accused Cambodia of spreading false claims about a pre-emptive Thai strike before the GBC meeting.

Thailand's troops have secured a disputed temple and barricaded Cambodian access. The duration of the current conflict depends on Cambodia, not Thailand. It is observed that Cambodia is acquiring offensive weaponry, according to Gen Nattapol.

The Thai government is operating under immense pressure, with every decision based solely on national interests. Thailand's defence procurement is solely for sovereignty protection, not for offensive capabilities. This evidence will be presented during any formal inquiry or confrontation, but will not be released immediately.

All Thai armed forces spokespersons, including those from the Special Taskforce for Thai-Cambodian Border Situation Management (STBCSM), are tasked with disseminating information in both Thai and English. The Thai military remains committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region while upholding its sovereignty.

The Thai military is inviting international military attachés to visit the Thai-Cambodian border to witness the civilian casualties and damage attributed to Cambodian military operations, as part of efforts to protest and communicate these issues to the international community. This move comes after the Thai government has compiled evidence against Cambodia, including aerial photographs, and accuses Cambodia of ceasefire violations, offensive weaponry acquisition, and spreading false claims.
