PATTAYA BLOWOUT – Two foreign lads pocketed a hefty 15,000 baht fine after they hurled verbal abuse and attacked a hardworking Thai bike courier here, resulting in a mass brawl.

The drama unfolded outside a supermarket in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri, during the sweltering Sunday afternoon.

Our local hero – a 44-year-old Thai delivery rider – reported that a speeding vehicle with a pair of overseas occupants swiped his bike. One of the foreigners, apparently enraged by the encounter, tossed a bag of stinky rubbish right at our unsuspecting hero.

Honking his horn, our bike guy pursued the culprits, wanting answers. However, the duo exited the vehicle, unleashing a stream of vile insults before attacking him.

Passersby expectantly watched the ordeal, with one womantrying to de-escalate the situation. Yet, her efforts were fruitless as the conflict continued to escalate.

A heroic group of local men eventually joined the fray, grasping the foreigners and pushing them to the ground. Alas, our troublemakers attempted to flee into the supermarket, only to be chased by some of the local heroes.

Eventually, the police arrived, leaving our foreign yahoos asking for protection, claiming they were the victims.

Headed to the Muang Pattaya police station, they admitted to instigating the fight and coughed up 15,000 baht. The authorities kindly chose to keep their identities, ages, and nationalities under wraps.

This incident serves as a stark reminder that foreigners engaged in physical altercations with locals in Pattaya could face heavy fines and legal consequences under Thai law[1][3][4]. In recent history (April 2025), a couple of cack-handed Brits were hit with a hefty 15,000 THB fine after an incident involving an argument, littering, and assault against a Thai motorcyclist[4].

  1. The motorcyclist who was involved in the altercation outside the supermarket in Pattaya was a Thai delivery rider.
  2. Amidst the chaos, a bag of stinky rubbish was thrown at the Thai delivery rider by one of the foreign occupants of the speeding vehicle.
  3. The incident was a general-news topic, highlighting the crime-and-justice aspect of foreigners engaging in physical altercations with locals in Pattaya, which often results in hefty fines and legal consequences under Thai law, as was seen in a previous case involving a pair of British tourists in April 2025.
