UAE Braces for Frequent Dust Storms and High Temperatures

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is expected to experience frequent dust storms and high temperatures from August 11 to August 24, 2025. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), wind speeds will range from 10 to 25 km/h, gusting up to 35-40 km/h, mostly from southeasterly to northeasterly directions.

The extreme heat will be evident in the temperatures, with daytime highs reaching around 42°C in Dubai and Sharjah, approximately 44°C in Abu Dhabi, and a peak of 47.7°C recorded in the Al Dhafrah region (Bada Dafas). The skies will be fair to partly cloudy at times, with a possibility of some convective cloud formation eastwards by the afternoon.

The overall weather pattern shows intense summer heat coupled with frequent dust storms, which may reduce visibility and worsen air quality, particularly posing health risks for those with respiratory conditions. The UAE's meteorological department has advised the public to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the dusty conditions and extreme heat.

Meanwhile, there have been no updates regarding the health or whereabouts of VS Achuthanandan, Arshdeep Singh, or Jude Bellingham. Arshdeep Singh, an Indian cricketer, is out of the fourth Test due to an injury, and the England tour of India has ended. There have also been no recent reports about the cricket tour or the AI fountain show scheduled to light up Al Maryah Waterfront in Abu Dhabi.

In other news, Gianni Infantino, the President of FIFA, has offered support to England's Jude Bellingham over racist abuse. However, there have been no updates on the situation with Gianni Infantino or Air India, who reported no issues with the fuel control switches on their Boeing 737 aircraft. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea during this period.

  1. Despite the focus on the upcoming weather conditions, it's worth noting the concern shown by FIFA president Gianni Infantino towards England's Jude Bellingham regarding racist abuse, underlining the intersection of sports and culture.
  2. As the UAE braces for frequent dust storms and high temperatures, sports enthusiasts may want to keep an eye on weather-forecasting updates to plan their outdoor activities carefully.
  3. Meanwhile, the weather forecast for the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea remains calm during the same period, providing a nice contrast to the scorching summer heat and dust storms prevalent on land.
