Changeable Weather Forecast for Berlin and Brandenburg This Weekend

This weekend, residents of Berlin and Brandenburg can expect changeable weather with thunderstorms, varying cloud cover, and moderate temperatures. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), this unpredictable pattern is due to a low pressure system over southern Scandinavia, causing many clouds, brief showers, and isolated thunderstorms.

On Saturday afternoon and evening, thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected, particularly north of the Havel and in regions between Prignitz and Fläming. The rest of the day will see periods of cloudiness and fluctuating temperatures, with temperatures ranging moderately, usually between low 20s to high 20s Celsius.

As for Sunday, temperatures will range from 19 to 23 degrees, and there will be alternating sun and dense clouds, with local showers. Thunderstorms are expected to be less frequent on Sunday compared to Saturday. The night into Sunday is expected to remain mainly dry initially, before denser clouds move in from the west.

Looking back at July 2025, both Berlin and Brandenburg experienced high rainfall and relatively little sunshine. Berlin had 182 sunny hours, while Brandenburg had 186. Berlin received 145 liters per square meter of rain, making it the second rainiest location in Germany, only surpassed by Hamburg with 155 liters per square meter. The average temperature in Berlin was 19.4 degrees, making it the warmest location in Germany, while Brandenburg had an average temperature of 19 degrees.

As for the start of the new week, on Monday, it will be dry in many places with some sun and temperatures around 22 to 24 degrees. Towards evening, rain will ease off and the cloud cover will gradually thin, with intervals of clear skies in between.

For precise real-time updates on thunderstorm timing, cloud cover, and temperature ranges, consulting local weather services or meteorological websites closer to the weekend is recommended as these parameters can change rapidly.
