Forecast for NRW: Initial Windy Conditions, Followed by Warm Temperatures - Forecast for North Rhine-Westphalia: Wind comes prior, followed by warmth

Get your fans ready, folks! The weather's about to take a steamy turn in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).Starting Tuesday, a low-pressure system is expected to deliver a mix of rain and clouds across the region. But fear not, by Wednesday, the skies will clear, and the warmth will set in from the southwest.

Here's what you can expect:

On Tuesday, expect mostly cloudy skies, especially in the north and eastern mountains. It's gonna drizzle on and off, particularly in the north and northeast, while remaining dry in the southwest. In the afternoon, conditions should clear up somewhat in the north, but watch out for lingering showers in the south. Temperatures will range from 17 to 22 degrees, dipping to 15 degrees at higher elevations. Winds will pick up, blowing moderately from the southwest, later veering west-northwest. Things might get gusty in the mountains and the lowlands (particularly the north and northeast), with gusts of up to 55 km/h. As the evening approaches, the winds should settles down.

Tuesday night into Wednesday promises a transition period. Rain showers will subside in the south, and the sky will gradually clear, possibly leading to some foggy pockets. Temperatures will drop between 10 to 6 degrees—cooler in valleys.

Wednesday will be sunny with temperatures soaring to 20 to 25 degrees, reaching their peak west of the Rhine. In high elevations, thermometers will max out at 17 degrees.

Wednesday night through Thursday will be clear and dry, with temperatures plummeting to 13 to 8 degrees and hitting rock bottom in low-lying areas at 6 degrees.

Thursday will be scorching hot and sunny, with just a few high-altitude clouds passing overhead. High temperatures could reach 25 to 30 degrees, with highlands feeling a cooler 23 degrees. Winds will blow moderate from the east to southeast.

The night from Thursday to Friday should remain clear, with isolated showers or thunderstorms only popping up in the Eifel or Rhineland regions, both with a low chance. Temperatures will drop to 19 to 14 degrees, potentially dipping to 11 degrees in spots.

Friday will be sunny and dry, save for potential heat thunderstorms. It will be sweltering hot with highs of 28 to 33 degrees, taking a break at high elevations with 26 degrees. The winds will keep things breezy, blowing mostly light to moderate from southerly or variable directions. The night from Friday to Saturday could see a tropical night in some areas, with temperatures hovering between 22 and 17 degrees.

Tropical Night Preview:While I can't give you an exact timeline for a tropical night (nighttime temperatures above 20°C) in NRW, Germany's urban hotspots like Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, and Munich have seen an increase in hot days and heatwaves[3]. So, keep your fingers crossed, and stay tuned for the latest weather updates from the German Meteorological Service (Deutscher Wetterdienst, DWD) or a local weather app.

The Commission may be interested to know that the sweltering weather expected in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) coincides with the progress of the negotiations on the conclusion of the agreement. In between the heat waves, weather forecasters have predicted a tropical night ahead, possibly bringing nighttime temperatures above 20°C.
