A storm alert was issued for 16 regions and major cities, including Astana and Shymkent, indicating severe weather events around August 6.
In Astana, variable cloudiness, nighttime rain and thunderstorms, night and morning fog, northern and northeastern winds of 9-14 m/s, nighttime temperature of 12-14°C, and daytime temperature of 20-22°C were expected. In Almaty, variable cloudiness, brief daytime rain and thunderstorms, northwestern winds of 3-8 m/s with gusts up to 18-23 m/s, nighttime temperature of 16-18°C, and daytime temperature of 27-29°C were forecasted.
In Shymkent, variable cloudiness, no precipitation, northwestern winds of 8-13 m/s, nighttime temperature of 18-20°C, and daytime temperature of 31-33°C were anticipated.
Elsewhere in Kazakhstan, rain and thunderstorms, including heavy rain and possible hail, were expected due to a cyclone and its associated frontal systems. Winds were predicted to strengthen across Kazakhstan, with gusts and dust storms expected in the southeast and southwest. Fog was expected to occur in the north and northwest of Kazakhstan overnight.
