Ford Models storms Mumbai with historic open casting for Indian talent

Ford Models made its India debut with a historic open casting in Mumbai on 16th May 2026. The event drew massive crowds, with over 1,500 aspiring models queuing outside Jio World Drive in BKC. Industry professionals, fashion enthusiasts, and media gathered to witness the agency’s first scouting session in the country. The agency, founded in New York in 1946, has spent 80 years shaping global fashion. With offices in Paris, Barcelona, Miami, Los Angeles, and beyond, its arrival in India marks a new focus on local talent for the international market.

The Mumbai casting attracted more than 600 registrations, with long lines forming outside the venue. Applicants were evaluated on runway potential, confidence, versatility, and appeal to global markets. A panel of experts, including Phonetip Sisavath, Eddy Martin, Fabio Monceri, Victoria Da Silva, and Parthiva Hirdaramani, oversaw the selections.

After a rigorous process, 20 finalists were chosen for the next stage. These candidates will now compete for potential international opportunities under Ford Models’ banner. The event highlighted India’s growing influence in global fashion scouting. With 20 shortlisted participants moving forward, the agency’s expansion could open new doors for Indian models on the world stage. The Mumbai casting sets the stage for future editions and deeper engagement with local talent.
