Kazakhstan is bracing for a mix of extreme weather conditions on August 11, 2025. While the majority of the country is predicted to experience dry weather, certain regions will face contrasting weather patterns.
An anticyclone is expected to bring rain and thunderstorms with possible hail and strong wind to the west, northwest, north, east, center, and mountainous southeastern parts of the country. Unfortunately, this weather front is not expected to reach the regions of Almaty, Jetisu, or Ulytau.
On the other hand, extreme heat is forecast for several regions. The southern areas, including Turkistan, Shymkent, and Almaty region, are predicted to reach temperatures of up to 40–41°C. The Ulytau region will experience temperatures similar to those expected in other regions, around +35-36°C.
In the west, north, and center of the Almaty region, temperatures will be slightly cooler, reaching up to +35-37°C. However, a dust storm is expected in the south during the day, which may impact these temperatures.
Fog is expected in the morning and evening in North Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions. Additionally, a high fire danger has been issued for multiple regions due to the heat and dry conditions, including Zhetysu, Kyzylorda, Aktobe, Atyrau, Karaganda, Kostanay, and others.
In the Akmola region, thunderstorms with hail and strong wind are expected. Despite the forecast, no mention of rain, thunderstorms, hail, gusty winds, night and morning fog, or dust storms was made for the regions of Almaty, Jetisu, or Ulytau.
