"We should use detention for deportations more regularly," Höne remarked in a special session at the local parliament, suggesting the need for an additional detention center for deportations in North Rhine-Westphalia, ideally located near Düsseldorf airport.
Höne also brought up the idea of centralizing the 54 local foreigner authorities. This could be achieved by setting up five return centers close to central foreigner authorities. Individuals with slim chances of staying shouldn't be directly shipped to municipalities according to Höne's suggestion. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of expedited proceedings in administrative courts.

The suspected Islamist attack in Solingen occurred on a Friday evening at a city festival. A fella brandishing a knife took the lives of three folks and injured eight more. The primary suspect, 26-year-old Syrian Issa Al H., remains in custody. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is looking into him for various charges, including murder and suspected membership in the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS). Al H. was scheduled to be deported to Bulgaria last year, but the plans didn't go through.
