Marcos Rojo Bids Farewell to Boca Juniors Amidst Disagreements
After a tumultuous end to his tenure, Marcos Rojo, the former World Cup finalist, has officially parted ways with Argentine club Boca Juniors. The 35-year-old defender's contract was terminated by mutual consent following a series of disagreements with the coaching staff.
Rojo joined Boca Juniors in 2020, having previously played over 100 matches and won four titles with the club's jersey. However, his last appearance was in a Copa Argentina penalty shootout win over Lanus in 2021. Since then, he has been absent from the team due to disagreements, culminating in his ban from the dressing room and training facilities.

Rojo's career at Boca Juniors began on a high note, as he quickly established himself as a key player. However, a cruciate ligament injury in 2017 sent his career into a downward spiral, limiting his appearances for the club.
Prior to joining Boca Juniors, Rojo spent six years at Manchester United, where he made over 120 appearances and won the FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League. He joined United in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon in a £16million deal. However, his time at Old Trafford was marked by inconsistency, with Rojo featuring 95 times in his first three seasons but only 27 times in the next three.
As of now, Rojo faces an uncertain future as he searches for a new club. Reports claim he, along with two other players, were told they were no longer welcome at Boca Juniors' Xeneiza training centre. Despite this, Rojo has yet to receive any offers from other clubs.
