Footballer João Félix transfers from Chelsea to Ronaldo's team (Ronaldo's team name)
In a significant move, Portuguese football star João Félix has left FC Chelsea to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on a permanent basis. The transfer deal, which could be worth up to €50 million (£43.7 million), was announced in July 2025.
The transfer fee initially stood at around €31 million (£26.2 million), with Al-Nassr set to pay additional performance-related bonuses. This signing marks a significant investment by Al-Nassr, as they aim to strengthen their squad and retain superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who also plays for the club.
João Félix's move to Al-Nassr comes after a challenging year at Stamford Bridge. Signed permanently from Atlético Madrid for approximately £45 million last summer, Félix struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under coach Enzo Maresca. He made only 20 appearances across all competitions last season, with few starts to his name.
Despite his struggles at FC Chelsea, Félix's talent has never been in question. Considered one of Portugal's brightest prospects, Félix has already won the Club World Cup with FC Chelsea and has represented his country at international level.
Interestingly, before Al-Nassr completed the transfer, Portuguese club Benfica had expressed an interest in re-signing Félix. The move to the Saudi Pro League marks a new chapter in Félix's career, and he will be eager to make his mark in his new surroundings.
