Footballer Bade links up with Echeverri at Leverkusen football club
Bayer Leverkusen Bolsters Defence with Loic Bade Signing
Bayer Leverkusen have strengthened their defence with the signing of Loic Bade from Sevilla, the Bundesliga club announced on Thursday. Bade, a physically uncompromising and tactically astute central defender, has signed a five-year deal with the German outfit.
The 26-year-old Frenchman, who has represented Lens and Le Havre in his professional career, played the full 90 minutes in France's Nations League third-place playoff win over Germany earlier this month. His impressive performances at international level have caught the eye of Bayer Leverkusen's managing sporting director, Simon Rolfes.
Rolfes described Bade as an "absolute addition" to their defence, stating, "Loic is a young but very experienced central defender who has proven himself in La Liga against world-class strikers." He further added that the addition of Bade makes their defence "competitive at the highest level."
Bade expressed his excitement about joining Bayer Leverkusen, stating, "The Bundesliga and German football really appeal to me. I can't wait to play for Bayer 04 and battle for a trophy."
Bade's arrival at Bayer Leverkusen comes as a replacement for Amine Adli, who left the club to join Premier League side Bournemouth. With the exit of Jonathan Tah, Bade is expected to compete with Jarell Quansah for a starting position.
Claudio Echeverri also joined Erik ten Hag's side on the same day, as Bayer Leverkusen continue their preparations for the new season. Bade's transfer to Bayer Leverkusen is reported to have cost €29m, making him one of the club's most expensive signings.
Bade's stats from his time at Sevilla are impressive, with him winning 63.3% of his tackles and 62.3% of his duels in 79 LaLiga appearances. His comments were made to Leverkusen's official website, where he expressed his eagerness to contribute to the team's success.
With Bade's addition, Bayer Leverkusen have shown their intent to compete at the highest level in the Bundesliga. The French defender's experience, combined with his tactical awareness and physicality, make him an exciting addition to the team. As the new season approaches, fans can look forward to seeing Bade in action for Bayer Leverkusen.
