Get ready for the kick-off, as the new seasons of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League are just around the corner! The qualification rounds are about to begin. But, who's going to bring you the epic matches? Let's break it down.
From July 8 to the end of August 2025, teams will face off in various qualifications and playoffs to secure a spot in the group phase. The league phase draw will take place on August 28, 2025.
Starting from mid-September (September 16-18, 2025), the Champions League group phase commences, leading to the knockout phase in February 2026. The grand final will take place on May 30, 2026, at the Budapest Puskás Arena.
Last year, the German rights for broadcasting the Champions League went to Prime Video and DAZN. A monthly DAZN subscription sets you back €44.99 or €34.99 per month for a yearly subscription, while an Amazon Prime subscription costs €8.99 per month or €89.90 for a yearly subscription. Interestingly, Prime Video will air one game on Tuesdays, while DAZN will stream most of the games.
Following the Champions League, let's shift our focus to the Europa League. As of now, 13 teams have secured their spot in the league phase, including SC Freiburg and VfB Stuttgart from the Bundesliga. The remaining teams need to qualify, with the qualification rounds starting on July 10, 2025. The league phase draw will go down on August 29, 2025.
The first league phase matchday will take place on September 24-25, 2025, followed by the knockout phase in February 2026. The final will occur on May 20, 2026, at the Besiktas Park in Istanbul.
RTL is the exclusive broadcaster for the Europa League, with some games available on free TV and the rest on the paid platform RTL+. Through collaborations with Sky, RTL+ will show two games per matchday for both the Europa League and the Conference League, while Sky will do the same.
An RTL+ subscription with live sports included costs €8.99 per month and offers ad-supported streaming on one device or an ad-free €12.99 per month subscription with simultaneous streaming capabilities on two devices.
