Football team leader Pete Carroll verifies regular communication with Tom Brady
The Las Vegas Raiders have an exciting week ahead, as they are set to face the Chicago Bears in their home turf. However, the news surrounding the team goes beyond the upcoming game.
The Raiders' schedule this season includes a mix of challenging opponents, such as the Chiefs, Eagles, Giants, and Washington Commanders. Interestingly, Tom Brady, who was approved as a minority owner of the Raiders in October 2024, will not be physically present during the Raiders' practices or games against these teams.
Brady's involvement with the Raiders is primarily remote, as he is not permitted to attend practices held at team facilities. Instead, he contributes to the team through conversations with head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Carroll mentioned that Brady brings great insight to their discussions, and they all respect each other.
Brady's role with the Raiders does not extend to the field. He will be part of Fox News' broadcast for a game between the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears on Sunday, but he will not be present at the Raiders' game against the New York Giants or Washington Commanders.
In fact, Brady has already been involved in Fox News' broadcast this season. He was in Kansas City to broadcast the Super Bowl rematch between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, two teams that are also on the Raiders' schedule. Last week, during Week 1, Brady was part of Fox News' broadcast of the New York Giants' game against the Washington Commanders, who will host the Raiders on Sunday.
Despite not being a regular presence at the Raiders' practices or games, Brady has been seen at the team's home stadium. He sat in the coaching box with a headset on during a Monday night game. Brady also regularly meets with NFL coaches like Bill Belichick and Bruce Arians in production discussions.
Recently, NFL owners have approved lighter measures for Brady to meet with other coaches and players in production meetings as part of his role with Fox News. This unique arrangement allows Brady to contribute to the Raiders while maintaining his broadcasting commitments.
The Raiders' last game was a tough one, as they lost 20-9 to the Chargers on Monday. With Brady's insight and the team's determination, they will aim to turn things around in their upcoming game against the Chicago Bears.
