In the thrilling 2022-2023 Premier League season, Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah once again proved his worth, leading Liverpool to the league title with an impressive 29 goals and 18 assists. His outstanding performances earned him multiple accolades, including the Premier League Player of the Season, the Golden Boot for top scorer, the Playmaker award for most assists, and for the third time, the PFA Player of the Year award.

Salah's goal-scoring and assist contributions were not the only highlight for Liverpool. The team also saw new signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth and Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Virgil van Dijk named in the Premier League Team of the Year.

Arsenal, on the other hand, had a successful season, with Mariona Caldentey named Women's Player of the Year after scoring nine league goals in her first season with the club and eight in the Champions League. The Gunners also made history by signing Olivia Smith for a reported fee of one million pounds ($1.35 million), making her the first female player to break the seven-figure barrier. Smith, a Canadian 21-year-old forward, scored nine goals for Arsenal last season.

The Premier League Team of the Year also included William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães from Arsenal, Matz Sels from Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, who was voted Young Player of the Year.

In a surprising turn of events, Salah was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League before deciding to sign a two-year contract extension with Liverpool. Meanwhile, Arsenal celebrated a historic victory, winning the Champions League trophy by beating Mariona Caldentey's former club, Barcelona.
