Football star Mikel Obi advises Osimhen to reconsider a potential move to Saudi Arabia and instead opt for a transfer to the English Premier League.

In a chat with Metro, former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has urged Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, to snub a move to the Middle East, pushing instead for a continued stint in Europe. Mikel expressed his apprehensions about the transfer rumors linking the 26-year-old to Saudi Arabia, stating that such a leap could be premature at this stage of Osimhen's illustrious career.

"It's a damn shame to see him go there," Mikel declared emphatically. "I fervently hope there's still a Premier League move in store for him this summer."

Osimhen, fresh off a blockbuster loan spell at Galatasaray, is tipped to depart Napoli on a permanent basis ahead of the 2025-2026 season.

Mikel expressed his faith in Osimhen's potential to shine at the zenith of European football and offered several marquee clubs that he believes would be suitable for the Nigerian international.

"Why not Arsenal, United, Juventus, or even PSG? Let's see what transpires," he added cheerfully.

For the record, Osimhen had an impeccable season in the Turkish Super Lig, bagging an impressive 36 goals and supplying 8 assists in 40 matches. This astonishing performance earned him the league's highest goalscorer award.

The Nigerian ace played a vital role in helping Galatasaray to clinch not one but two trophies - the Su̇per Lig title and the Turkish Cup. In doing so, he swiftly secured the adoration of the massive fanbase.
