Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, have announced their engagement. The news was shared on Instagram by Rodríguez, who posted a photo of a gigantic engagement ring.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez met in the summer of 2016 at a Gucci boutique in Madrid, Spain, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant. Their meeting was described as love at first sight, with Ronaldo entering the store with friends and his son, Cristiano Jr., just as Rodríguez was about to finish her shift. They started dating shortly after this chance encounter at the luxury store.
The couple has been together for over five years and has four children together: daughter Bella and son Ángel, as well as Ronaldo's three other children, Cristiano Jr., born in June 2010, and twins Eva and Mateo, born via surrogate in June 2017.
Ronaldo's overall career goal count exceeds 930, combining club and country goals. He is soccer's all-time leading goal scorer at the international level with 138 goals. Ronaldo has won the European championship with Portugal in 2016 and has hoisted five Champions League trophies.
