Arizona Cardinals' Star Wide Receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Set to Play in Preseason Opener

After missing practice over the weekend due to feeling ill and dealing with knee soreness, Marvin Harrison Jr., the 22-year-old star wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, has returned to practice and is expected to play in the team's preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that he plans to play his starters for some undisclosed amount of time in the first preseason game. Gannon expressed his optimism about Harrison's progress and comfort in the offense, with no reports indicating that his recent health issues have impacted his availability for the preseason opener.

Harrison Jr. has been actively participating in camp and is part of the team's plans for preseason action. His return could potentially make him available for the crucial match against Kansas City.

Last season, Harrison Jr., who was the fourth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, finished with 62 receptions for 885 yards and eight touchdowns, playing in all 17 games (starting 16). However, fellow receiver Michael Wilson, a projected starter, is currently sidelined due to a concussion.

The Cardinals' preseason opener is scheduled for Saturday. Let's hope Harrison Jr.'s improved connection with quarterback Kyler Murray will translate into a strong performance on the field.
