Tom Brady Receives Statue Honouring His NFL Achievements
Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, received a statue outside the New England Patriots' stadium on Friday, ahead of the team's preseason game against the Washington Commanders. The statue stands at 12 feet tall, symbolising Brady's jersey number and his impressive achievements with the team.
The statue was unveiled to honour Brady's six Super Bowl wins as the Patriots' quarterback, making him the most successful player in the team's history. Brady won Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, and LIII with the Patriots, securing the majority of his seven Super Bowl titles there. His seventh title came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.
In his speech at the statue unveiling, Brady acknowledged that standing frozen outside the stadium for eternity was something he never imagined. He was filled with self-deprecating humor, joking about there being room for improvement and making humorous jabs at his former teammates. Brady also pretended to take a call from his former coach Bill Belichick, adding a touch of light-heartedness to the ceremony.
Brady, who turned 48 five days prior to the ceremony, thanked the Patriots organisation and the fans for their unwavering support throughout his career. Despite facing criticism for his lack of speed throughout his career, Brady proved that age is just a number, winning a Super Bowl title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after leaving the Patriots.
The New England Patriots, Brady's former team, is the most successful in the history of the National Football League, with a total of 17 division titles. Brady's statue is a symbol of the team's success and Brady's significant contribution to it.
