"Football Friendship" Successfully Breaks Guinness World Record
Street-Smart Scribbler's Spin:
In a riveting live broadcast of the Grand Final for "Football for Friendship," official rep Joan Brand confirmed a brand-new world record! The record-breaking moment took place in the digital wilds of the Football for Friendship World simulator (F4F World).
Before the big event, soccer superstar and "Football for Friendship" ambassador Roberto Carlos rallied the players. He earned support from Russian football legends Eugene Aldonin, Dmitry Sennikov, Dmitry Sychev, and Elena Ryzhkova, plus Russian social media stars Kate and Nastya, and Kirill Kolesnikov.
"Ladies and gents, today we're gunning for the top spot! I'm a huge video game fan myself – I dig the 'Football for Friendship World' simulator, and I'll be joining you today too," said an excited Roberto Carlos.
The F4F World simulator debuted in 2020, creating real-time international battles for the program. From May 24 to 26, the World Online Championship of "Football for Friendship" went down on the F4F World platform, with teams and players from over 200 countries battling it out.
In the past, "Football for Friendship" has been recognized by Guinness World Records™ twice. In 2019, they crushed the record for the most multinational football training session ever, with 57 nationalities training in Madrid during the final events of the seventh season of "Football for Friendship." The session was led by Mikel Putch, head of Barcelona's Youth Academy, and Josep Gombau, former coach of Barcelona's youth team [1][2].
On December 5, 2020, during the wrap-up of the eighth season, another world record was set- the most participants in a virtual football event. Players from over 100 countries on all seven continents battled it out alongside famous football stars [3].
Roberto Carlos also took a shot at a world record in 2020, joining forces with freestyle champions Melody Donchet, Anton Pavlov, and Andreas Cetkovich, plus numerous footballers and world-renowned freestylers from various countries [4].
Unfortunately, the current Guinness record in the virtual football stadium category for "Football for Friendship" appears to be undisclosed [1]. But this exciting tournament is just another example of how this innovative program keeps pushing boundaries and bringing people together!
