Florida Gators assistant football coach Jabbar Juluke has been suspended for three games, following an incident during a pregame altercation ahead of the team's loss to LSU. The suspension was announced jointly by the SEC and the Gators program.

Jabbar Juluke, who is also the associate head coach under Billy Napier, has been with the Gators football team since 2022. Prior to joining the Gators, Juluke coached LSU's running backs in 2016.

The pregame altercation reportedly involved players from both the Gators and the Tigers. Juluke's conduct during the incident is deemed unacceptable and not aligned with SEC standards. He has apologized for his role in the altercation and took full responsibility for his actions.

In a statement, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey expressed disappointment at Juluke's actions, emphasizing that coaches are expected to be leaders and de-escalate tense situations. Sankey added that such behaviour is not in line with the values and standards of the SEC.

Julue's apology was made via ESPN, where he expressed regret for his reaction and committed to using this moment to strengthen his emotional intelligence. He also suggested that he got into an incident with a Tigers player.

Julue further stated that he intends to use this situation as a teachable moment, not only for himself, but for those he impacts. He aims to learn from this experience and ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future.

As a result of his suspension, Juluke will miss games against the Miami Hurricanes, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies. It is unclear who will take over his responsibilities during his absence.

Despite the suspension, Juluke remains a valued member of the Gators coaching staff. The team will continue to support him as he navigates this challenging situation.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining composure and adhering to the standards expected of coaches and players in the SEC. It is hoped that Juluke's suspension will send a strong message about the league's commitment to upholding its values and promoting a positive, respectful environment for all involved.
