Football action returns as two FCM teams compete in the AVNET stadium opening of the new league season.
The 2025-26 season is set to be an exciting one for football fans in Magdeburg, with both the first team and the U23 team playing their home games in the AVNET-Arena. In anticipation of the upcoming season, Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH & Co. KG (MVB) has announced its transportation plans to ensure a smooth and convenient journey for fans.
For the first time, the U23 team will play in the AVNET-Arena, following their promotion to the Regionalliga Nordost. Fans can access the stadium via Line 6, as they have for the professional team's home games. However, no special arrangements have been made for these lines.
In addition to Line 6, a special Line 15 will operate, connecting the main station and the "Arenen" stop. This line will run every 20 minutes and will be in operation for the home game against Eintracht Braunschweig on August 3rd. Unlike the professional team's home games, there will be no special Line 15 departures from the main station at specific times for the U23 team's home games.
For the convenience of fans, MVB lines can be used for free three hours before and after the game for the professional team's home games. However, this offer does not apply to the U23 team's home games. Match tickets do not allow free use of MVB lines for the U23 team's home games, and fans are advised to pay attention to the different regulations.
MVB is committed to providing safe and comfortable travel for fans to home games. For the U23 team's home games, Line 15 will be operational, but fans should note that the free use of MVB lines before and after the game does not apply. The first departure of Line 15 from the main station will be at 10:48 AM.
As the new football season begins, MVB extends its wishes to both the 1. FC Magdeburg and the U23 teams for a successful season. For detailed and specific information about MVB’s transportation plans for the 2025-26 season, including any special shuttle services, route changes, or ticketing arrangements for both the first team and U23 matches, fans are advised to consult MVB’s official website, 1. FC Magdeburg’s official communications, or local news updates closer to the season.
Fans interested in other sports, such as those who will be attending the U23 team's home games, can also use Line 6 to access the AVNET-Arena, just like they do for the professional team's games. However, special Line 15 will be operational only for the home game against Eintracht Braunschweig on August 3rd, and the free use of MVB lines before and after the game does not apply for the U23 team's games.
