In a thrilling encounter at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich emerged victorious against Chelsea with a scoreline of 3-1. The match, played just in time for the start of the school year in Bavaria, saw the German giants extend their impressive Champions League winning streak to 22 games.

Vincent Kompany, the coach of Munich's football team, expressed the team's determination, stating that they approach every game with '100 percent hunger' and their ultimate goal is to win the Champions League.

Manuel Neuer, the captain of Bayern, celebrated a significant milestone in the match, securing his 100th Champions League win. However, the team faced an early setback when Josip Stanisic had to be substituted due to an injury, with Sacha Boey replacing him on the right.

The first half of the game saw a strategic lineup from Munich, with only Dayot Upamecano remaining in his usual position. Trevoh Chalobah scored an own goal for Chelsea, pushing the ball over the line after being pressured by Upamecano, giving Bayern a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea responded quickly, with Cole Palmer scoring for them two minutes after Bayern took a 2-0 lead, making it 1-2. However, the momentum shifted in Bayern's favour as Harry Kane, the match winner, scored a brace, first making it 2-1 and then 3-1. Kane also had a chance to extend the lead to 4-1 but missed the opportunity. Olise also had a similar chance but failed to convert, keeping the score at 3-1.

In the second half, Konrad Laimer came on for Bayern on the left side of the midfield. Despite the injury to Josip Stanisic, Bayern's defence held strong, with Upamecano putting in a commendable performance in his usual position.

Uli Hoeneß, a renowned figure in Bayern's history, labelled Munich as underdogs in the Champions League, comparing them to 'Hoffenheim of Europe.' However, Kompany aims to win six of the eight games to avoid the playoff round in the Champions League.

The Champions League league phase involves 36 teams, with each team playing eight games against different opponents. Bayern's next challenge will be a significant one as they aim to continue their winning streak and make a strong push for the title.
