Following the stifling summer heat, comes the relief of the cooling season
In the coming days, Germany is set to experience a mix of weather conditions with regional differences, as indicated by the German Weather Service (DWD).
On Tuesday, eastern and central regions of the country can expect warm and sunny weather, with temperatures approaching 30°C. However, in the west, cloud cover will increase during the afternoon, accompanied by a freshening south-westerly to westerly wind. By the evening, showers and severe thunderstorms are expected to develop, particularly in southwestern areas including the Jura and the Alps.
The following day, a high-altitude low pressure system over France will cause unsettled weather across parts of Germany. Temperatures will be cooler than the previous days, ranging around 21 to 24°C, marking a noticeable break from the preceding summer warmth.
As we move into Thursday, warm conditions are expected to persist, with daytime highs around 27 to 30°C. However, there will be some humidity (relative humidity 70–75%) and atmospheric pressure near 761 mmHg.
Later in the afternoon, severe weather conditions are expected in the Black Forest and Alpine foothills. In the evening, it will become increasingly wet, especially in the southwest and south. Persistent and occasionally heavy rain is expected from the southern Black Forest to the southern Alpine foothills.
In the north, Berlin will see a mostly dry morning, but scattered showers are forecasted for the south and southwest of the city. In Middle Bavaria, high temperatures of up to 30°C are predicted today. On Thursday, highs of 18 to 25°C are expected. It will then become progressively cooler in the following days.
It's worth noting that no significant northern lights or other solar weather effects are forecast to influence Germany's weather during these days.
In summary, eastern and central Germany will enjoy mostly sunny, warm weather early on, followed by periods of thunderstorms and cooler temperatures particularly in western and southern parts of Germany midweek. Stay tuned for updates on these developing weather patterns.
