Lewandowski's role as team captain was stripped, and he abruptly resigned in response. The superstar's actions have sent shockwaves through the nation, leading to Probierz's resignation.
"In light of the current situation, I believe it's best for the welfare of the national team that I resign from my position as coach," Probierz stated in a Polish Football Association press release. "Serving as coach was the pinnacle of my professional dreams and the greatest honor of my life."
