The smoke that filled Hamburg's sky on a Tuesday afternoon, following an unidentified origin, was traced back to a warehouse inferno. This incident took place in Billbrook, one of Hamburg's prominent industrial zones, close to midnight. The following morning, firefighters continued their investigation, finding no new hotspots and maintaining the same casualty count.

Preliminary assessments suggested that the warehouse was housing shredded plastic, measuring approximately 30 by 15 meters in size. Two individuals suffered from suspected smoke inhalation and were subsequently taken to the hospital.

At the height of the commotion, 124 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, due to the intense smoke production. Residents in Billbrook and Billstedt were advised to secure their windows and doors tightly due to theprevailing conditions.

Upon reaching the scene, firefighters encountered five individuals. Two of them exhibited signs of smoke inhalation and were sent to the hospital.

The affected company may need to seek alternative storage facilities to continue their operations. In light of the ongoing investigation, insurance companies might require detailed records of the lost inventory from the previous storage facilities.

In recent years, Billbrook has grown to be one of the busiest industrial zones in Hamburg, with numerous renowned businesses setting up base there. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities are still conducting an investigation to establish the facts.
