New Left-Wing Political Party Faces Internal Strife
A new political party, tentatively named "Your Party," has been proposed by Coventry South MP Zarah Sultana and former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. However, the party is currently embroiled in controversy, with reports of internal strife and the potential for a split.
The party's inception was marked by an email invitation to sign up for a membership portal, which was sent out on Wednesday. The email was signed by five Labour exiles, but it has been labelled a "false membership system" by Jeremy Corbyn in a tweet. However, the name of the political party is currently unclear, with both "Your Party" and "yourparty.uk" being mentioned, but not officially registered with the Electoral Commission.
The new left-wing direction of the Green Party under new leader Zack Polanski could potentially take votes away from the proposed political party. Despite the challenges, Zarah Sultana announced her departure from Labour to start the new party with Jeremy Corbyn in early July.
