Following his departure from Sentebale, there are rumors that Prince Harry may have established a new charity.
In a recent joint statement, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso expressed their unwavering commitment to the young people served by Sentebale, the charity they co-founded in 2006 to support children and young people in Lesotho and Botswana. However, the future of Prince Harry's work in the region remains uncertain following his resignation as a patron of Sentebale earlier this year.
The UK Charity Commission published a report detailing the investigation into Sentebale, which has been facing funding challenges and undergoing restructuring. The report has left Prince Harry "utterly devastated," considering it an "effective hostile takeover" of the charity.
The resignation was due to a breakdown in the relationship between the charity's trustees and the chair of the board, creating an untenable situation. In March, both Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso stepped down from their roles, citing solidarity with the board of trustees.
Sentebale has been working to replace lost funds and rebuild reserves, focusing on major fundraising efforts. Despite these difficulties, the charity claims that funders responsible for about two-thirds of its income remain committed and that it has attracted new individual donors aligned with its mission.
However, there are no publicly detailed or confirmed future plans specific to Prince Harry’s personal involvement or separate charitable initiatives in Lesotho and Botswana after his departure from Sentebale. T&C understands that a new nonprofit is just a possibility, not a definite plan. It is unclear if any new venture, should it occur, would involve Prince Seeiso.

Prince Harry remains committed to continuing the work he started, and the joint statement referred to Sentebale as an organization they promised to never forget. The Prince's future work in the region is unclear at this point, but one thing is certain: his dedication to supporting the children and young people of Lesotho and Botswana remains unwavering.

Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso recently visited Lesotho in October 2024, marking a significant moment for the charity they co-founded nearly 20 years ago. The statement was made in honor of their mothers, a testament to the personal connection and passion they have for the work they do.
