Veteran author Ken Follett, considered Britain's most successful writer, is set to release his latest novel "Stonehenge - The Cathedral of Time" on September 23. The book, published by Viking, is a historical fiction set in the Stone Age and explores a time period over 4,500 years ago.

In an interview with the German magazine "Stern", Follett, who is 76 years old, discussed the novel's themes and the societal norms of the time depicted in the book. According to Follett, the concept of ownership was not well-developed, and women's rights were not recognized during the time period.

The novel features a female priesthood, clashing lifestyles, and same-sex sex scenes. Research suggests that women in tribal communities during the time period may have had up to four sexual partners. There is also evidence to support the idea that women could have been leaders in smaller communities.

Follett, a best-selling author known for selling 190 million books, is no stranger to controversial themes. He is the author of "The Pillars of the Earth", a novel that tackled subjects such as religion, power, and politics.

Despite driving a Rolls-Royce, Follett does not see a contradiction between his lifestyle and his left-wing beliefs. He stated that he is only concerned about Trump potentially ruining the US economy and people not being able to afford his novels.

Follett expressed no fear that his novel with homosexual characters will not be received in the USA under President Donald Trump. He made the statement to the magazine "Stern".

The publisher for Follett's new book "Stonehenge - The Cathedral of Time" is Lübbe, a German publishing company. The novel will also be published by Lübbe.

DNA tests have shown that the perspectives of Victorian-era archaeologists regarding the gender of individuals buried with swords have been incorrect. This indicates that the roles and positions of women in society during the time period may have been more significant than previously thought.

In the interview, Follett also mentioned that he was 30 years old when he became a millionaire. This achievement is a testament to his enduring success and popularity as a writer.

With the release of "Stonehenge - The Cathedral of Time", Follett continues to push the boundaries of historical fiction and explore the complexities of human society across different time periods. The book is sure to be a must-read for fans of Follett's work and historical fiction enthusiasts alike.
