Fog Delays Hit Mexico City Airport; Operations Resume
A dense fog bank that descended on the Valley of Mexico before dawn on Thursday, October 30, 2025, caused flight delays at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). Operations returned to normal shortly after 8 a.m.
Temperatures dropped as low as 4 degrees Celsius (39F), producing thick fog that affected the airport. The AICM issued an advisory about flight delays at 6:31 a.m. Delta and Frontier were among the airlines affected, with flights delayed or canceled. Both airlines issued advisories to passengers, providing links to check flight status and reticketing options. The AICM later confirmed the return to normal operations on social media.
The Mexico City government activated a Yellow Alert for cold temperatures in several boroughs, highlighting the impact of the weather on the city. Despite the morning's disruptions, airport operations resumed normally by late morning.
