Focus on Showbiz: Customs Reveals Initial Examination Statistics for Kiliani Festival

The Main Customs Office in Schweinfurt recently opened its doors to the public, offering a glimpse into its diverse areas of activity. On July 10, 2025, the office conducted an inspection on the showmen and catering industry at the Kiliani Volksfest in Würzburg.

Over 70 enforcement agents from the Financial Control Black Work of the Main Customs Office participated in the operation, questioning approximately 224 employees about their employment status. The inspections, which took place in both Schweinfurt and Würzburg, were based on a risk-oriented approach aimed at reducing the social acceptance of black work and illegal employment.

The Main Customs Office detected several suspicions of possible violations during the inspection. These detected irregularities are now the subject of further investigations, likely in collaboration with the Finanzkontrolle Schwarzarbeit, prosecutorial authorities, the German Pension Insurance, and immigration authorities.

The Financial Control Black Work of the Customs also conducts nationwide and regional focus and special inspections. These inspections contribute to the detection and punishment of violations, helping to ensure fair and legal practices within the industry.

Interested citizens can get an insight into the tasks and activities of the Financial Control Black Work of the Customs on July 26, 2025, from 10 - 15 o'clock, at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, Zollamt Schweinfurt - Londonstraße (Londonstraße 24, 97421 Schweinfurt).
