The Kyffhäuser club in Sondershausen hosted the 13th Disability Sports Festival on August 20, 20XX, attracting a record attendance of 235 children, young people, and adults from 14 schools and institutions.

The annual event, organised by the Disability and Rehabilitation Sports Community, is a significant gathering that promotes sports and recreational activities for individuals with disabilities. This year's festival took place at the sports centre on the Goldner in Sondershausen.

The event was opened with a small ceremony, during which René Leipnitz, a board member of the Kyffhäuser Sparkasse, handed over a sponsorship agreement, pledging 500 euros for the festival. State Minister Antje Hochwind-Schneider (SPD) also presented a check for 1,500 euros for the sports festival.

The Kyffhäuser Sparkasse's support comes at a special time for the club, as they celebrate their 35th anniversary this year. A celebration to honour long-standing members of the club is planned for Saturday at the Bürgerzentrum Cruciskirche in Sondershausen.

In the lead-up to the festival, the Kyffhäuser club invited approximately 258 members to attend, offering public presentations of the club this week. These presentations provided opportunities to try out courses and training sessions in archery, bowling, gymnastics, boccia, and Nordic walking.

The participants were supervised by trainers from the club and students from the vocational school centre, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe also guaranteed support at the 13th Sporthilfe event of the Kyffhäuser-Ring-Sportgemeinschaft on Friday, August 23, 20XX.

The 13th Disability Sports Festival in Sondershausen was a resounding success, showcasing the club's commitment to promoting sports and recreation for individuals with disabilities and celebrating their achievements.
