The University of Florida's latest recruit, Xaivian Lee, has secured a significant income stream worth approximately $6 million through his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) contract and sneaker collaboration with the international brand Serious Player Only. The college sports newsletter On3 reported this development as an exclusive first.
Though exact figures are yet to be disclosed, the shoe contract is rumored to surpass the value of Lee's NIL deal. The deal signifies a landmark achievement as it marks the first instance of an NCAA athlete signing a sneaker agreement with an international brand. Serious Players Only, a Chinese company, produces the Player 1 model inspired by several Kobe Bryant designs.
Lee moved from Princeton to Florida and is set to take on an integral role in the team, following the departures of guards Walter Clayton Jr., Alijah Martin, and Will Richard. Clayton is expected to be selected late in the first round of NBA drafts.
Over the last couple of seasons with Princeton, Lee averaged 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. His stellar performances earned him a place on the First Team All-Ivy League on two occasions.
