Florida State University's Rattlers recruit Juco quarterback following the departure of their Kent State superstar
Florida A&M University (FAMU) has secured the commitment of highly-touted junior college (JUCO) quarterback, Jett Peddy. The Long Beach City College standout announced his decision on social media platforms Thursday afternoon.
A promising talent, Peddy boasts an impressive resume, having been recognized as a member of the Southern California Football Association National Division All-Central League First Team in 2024. In his sophomore season, he delivered impressive stats for Long Beach City College, throwing for 2,706 yards, completing 59% of his passes, and leading the league with an average of 270.6 passing yards per game.
FAMU, seeking to re-assert its presence in the SWAC Championship conversation following their Celebration Bowl victory in 2023 but hindered by a 7-5 record in the 2024 season, aims to benefit significantly from Peddy's arrival. The team's former starter, Daniel Richardson, emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in HBCU football before suffering an injury toward the end of the season against Prairie View A&M University in November.
In Richardson's absence, Peddy joins a quarterback room that includes fresh talent in RJ Johnson III, RJ Mayes, Tyler Jefferson, and Roman Purcell, along with returning players Green and Bryson Martin, as they prepare for the upcoming season. As the football season approaches, Peddy and his fellow candidates will vie for the coveted QB1 spot in the Orange Blossom Classic.
