Florida, Nevada Top US 'Gold Digger' States, Study Finds

A recent study has ranked the US states with the highest concentration of 'gold diggers', defined as individuals prioritizing wealth over other factors in a partner. Florida and Nevada tied for first place, while Texas, California, and New York rounded out the top five.

The study analyzed various factors, including the number of millionaires and billionaires per capita, online searches for terms like 'sugar daddy' and 'marry rich', dating app behaviors, and average income and cost of living. The states with the highest 'gold-digger' concentration also boast thriving real estate markets and vibrant luxury nightlife scenes, where wealth is highly visible.

In Florida and Nevada, particularly in Miami and Las Vegas, 'financially-incentivized dating' is prevalent. Here, luxury lifestyles are accessible and the line between affection and ambition can blur. Conversely, rural states like Maine, Wyoming, Montana, Nebraska, and Vermont were found to be least likely to prioritize wealth in a partner, likely due to their slower paces of life and fewer ultra-wealthy residents.

The study highlights the stark contrast in dating cultures across the US, with some states prioritizing wealth over other factors, while others value different qualities in a partner. The findings also underscore the influence of visible wealth and luxury lifestyles on dating behaviors.
