Florida lawsuit instigated by Brian Littrell of Backstreet Boys, alleges encroachment upon his family's privacy by trespassers on their beach, with Littrell warning of potential threats to his family's safety.

In a surprising turn of events, Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell has taken legal action against the Walton County Sheriff's Office in Florida. The lawsuit stems from the office's alleged refusal to enforce trespassing laws on Littrell's private beach property.

Littrell, who purchased a multimillion-dollar beachfront property in Santa Rosa Beach, Walton County, in 2023, claims that despite his efforts to mark the property as private with "No Trespassing" signs, chairs, umbrellas, and tables, numerous trespassers have regularly entered the property daily. These intruders, according to Littrell, have harassed and antagonized his family.

When his security staff alerted deputies about trespassing, the deputies are said to have taken no action, with at least one deputy reportedly stating a personal disagreement with the concept of private beaches. This lack of enforcement and protection has forced Littrell to hire private security.

The lawsuit argues that the sheriff's office is shirking its duty to protect Littrell's property rights, raising concerns that such inaction threatens the very existence of private property protections in Florida.

In a statement to our website, Digital, Littrell expressed his frustration, stating, "The sheriff's department will not bother to do their duty to protect the homeowners and enforce the law."

The Walton County Sheriff's Office has declined to comment on the pending litigation but stated it prides itself on handling situations professionally with a customer service approach. However, reports suggest that deputies were overheard saying that the sheriff was "proud of not issuing any citations for trespassing on the property."

The lawsuit, filed in a Florida court recently, seeks a writ of mandamus to require the sheriff's department to keep the alleged trespassers off of Littrell's beach. Littrell's attorney, Peter Ticktin, stated that these trespassers are not just a problem for Littrell, but also for his neighbours.

The lawsuit was obtained by Littrell's website, Digital, and states that Littrell's limited liability company, BLB Beach Hut LLC, is seeking the lawsuit to protect the "peaceful enjoyment" of his property in Walton County, Florida, on the Gulf Coast.

This is not the first time Littrell has had issues with trespassers. On May 4, a sheriff's deputy spoke to an alleged trespasser on Littrell's property but did not remove the trespasser or cite them. On June 5, an alleged trespasser grabbed legal documents related to the dispute out of the property manager's hand and scattered them across the beach.

Littrell's lawsuit also claims that a deputy had come to the property but hadn't taken any action against the alleged trespasser, and body camera footage shows instances of disrespect against Littrell's agents by the responding officer.

As Littrell focuses on addressing the violations of privacy that continue to occur on his property, it remains to be seen how the court will rule in this unusual case. Meanwhile, Littrell is currently in the midst of his Las Vegas residency with the Backstreet Boys.
