Florastraße Reopens After Serious Accident Caused by Teen's Red Light Run
Florastraße has reopened to traffic following a serious accident investigation. An 18-year-old Herne resident's speeding and traffic light violation led to a collision and closure of the street. On Florastraße, the young driver ignored a red light at the intersection with Erlenbruch, causing a crash into a tree. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle. The Herne resident had to be rescued by the fire department and was rushed to a local hospital. He underwent surgery, and his life is no longer in danger. Initial investigations suggest a witness entering the intersection may have caused the driver to swerve. The extensive accident investigation led to the temporary closure of Florastraße. It has since reopened to vehicle traffic. The serious traffic accident on Florastraße is now under investigation by Chief Inspector Martin Klein, head of the special investigation commission at the Essen police headquarters. The reopened street is once again safe for traffic.
