Floods halt life in Puducherry as Peshawar reels from deadly suicide attacks

Heavy downpours disrupted daily life in Puducherry and Karaikal on Monday, forcing school and college closures. Meanwhile, in Peshawar, unknown militants launched two suicide attacks on the Federal Corps Headquarters on Wednesday, February 1. Authorities have yet to identify those responsible for the assaults.

The downpours began early on Monday, flooding streets and residential areas across Puducherry and Karaikal. Waterlogged roads made travel difficult, while several housing colonies reported severe inundation. Local officials responded by declaring an unscheduled holiday for all educational institutions in the two regions.

The rains in Puducherry and Karaikal have eased, but recovery efforts continue in affected neighbourhoods. In Peshawar, authorities are still probing the suicide bombings, with no official statement on the perpetrators. Both events have left communities dealing with the aftermath of unexpected disruptions.
