Established in 1926, this private Christian camp for girls has suffered a devastating loss, with 27 campers and staff members confirmed dead.

As of the latest updates, at least 119 people have died statewide due to the flooding, with Kerr County being the hardest hit. In Kerr County alone, 96 people have died, comprising 60 adults and 36 children. Other affected counties with confirmed fatalities include Kendall (8), Travis (7), Williamson (3), Burnet (4), and Tom Green (1).

The catastrophic floods resulted in severe flooding and rapid water rise in the area, making rescue operations challenging. Around 161 people remain missing in Kerr County, many of whom are potential victims of the July 4 flooding event. Statewide, including other counties, the total missing count is at least 173 people.

Camp Mystic, located in the hill country along the Guadalupe River, was "horrendously ravaged" by the floodwaters. The river rose about 26 feet in 45 minutes, causing catastrophic flooding at the camp. At the time of the flood, approximately 650 people (around 550 children) were on site.

The camp announced the death toll and expressed condolences for the families of the deceased. Five campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic are still reported missing. Rescue and recovery teams continue to search the area, including extensive surveying of the Guadalupe River, although no new survivors have been found recently.
