Flooding returns to Omsk region

Flooding has struck the village of Odeskoe, according to official reports from the Emergency Situations Ministry in the Omsk region.

As of May 2, 2025, six residential homes are submerged. The extent of flooded land has decreased since April 30, 2025, when the Emergency Situations Ministry reported that water had infiltrated ten plots of land. However, this flooding isn't due to spring thaw, but rather a storm that hit the region on April 29, 2025.

"Due to heavy rainfall and the continued high levels of groundwater, residential homes have been flooded", the Emergency Situations Ministry stated.

In Odeskoe, a temporary shelter for citizens has been set up, although it's reported that there's been no disruption to the village's living conditions.

It's worth mentioning that earlier in Omsk and the region, numerous areas were flooded, mainly due to rivers overflowing and the low-lying land. However, since April 25, 2025, the Emergency Situations Ministry has stopped providing updates on floods, presumably because the water has receded. Particularly, the bridge over the Ui river, connecting Denisovka village and Sidelnikovo settlement, stayed submerged for longer than other flooded areas.
