Flooding returns to Omsk region
Living Homes Inundated in Odeskoe Village
According to the official data from the Emergency Situations Ministry of the Omsk region, as of May 2, 2025, six residential houses have been submerged in Odeskoe village. Earlier statistics from April 30 reported 10 parcels of land that were underwater, but current assessment indicates a decrease in flooded areas. However, this flooding isn't attributed to spring runoff but rather to a fierce storm that hit the region on April 29, 2025.
"The extensive rainfall coupled with high groundwater levels led to the inundation of residential homes in Odeskoe", explained the Emergency Situations Ministry.
The village has established a temporary shelter for the residents, and it is reported that essential services have not been interrupted.
Omsk city and its surrounding areas experienced flooding on several locations previously, primarily due to riverbank breaches and low-lying lands. However, updates on floodings have ceased since April 25, 2025, possibly due to the water receding. For instance, a bridge crossing the Ui river, connecting the villages of Denisovka and Sidelnikovo, stayed submerged for longer than most locations.
