A blazing inferno at a power station has taken a major chunk out of Friday flights to and from London Heathrow. Here's the lowdown on what's happening and how it might affect your travel plans.

SAS, the Scandi-cool airline, has cancelled all their copters between lovely Nordic capitals like Oslo, Stockholm, and Copenhagen to Heathrow. Bummer, eh? The flight schedule would make a sadist cry - from a 7:05 AM spin from Stockholm to an 8:40 PM goodnight squeeze out of Copenhagen, all kaput. A total mess!

On the other side of the coin, Heathrow isn't a one-way street for Scandi flyers. You guessed it - 15 losses to the three Nordic capitals too. British Airways is also taking a beating with Heathrow-Scandinavia flights.

Billund Airport, Denmark's cherished second-largest, has a BA flight coming in at high noon and taking off in the early afternoon, but aaaaallll cancelled. Keep an eye on both the airlines and airports' sites for updates, since you know, players gotta play.

In Sweden, seven flies from Stockholm Arlanda and three from Gothenburg Landvetter are playing hooky due to the Heathrow happenings. Check Swedavia's site or contact your airline or travel provider for the scoop on your specific journey.

Bad news for SAS Norway, with all 12 of their Heathrow-bound choppers today given the axe. SAS Norway's PR guy, Øystein Schmidt, told Norwegian news channel NTB that affected passengers would be notified directly. British Airways is giving London Heathrow the cold shoulder too.

After the Thursday night blaze, Heathrow announced it would keep its gates locked until midnight on Friday. Safety first, always!

Gatwick Airport, London's trusty backup, says it's happy to help with any Red Cross-style detours as needed. And it's expecting planes diverted from cities like Singapore, Lagos, Cape Town, and Doha.

But truth be told, Gatwick and sister airport Stansted don't have enough bean counters or runways to handle all of Heathrow's troubles. Bizarro world!

It's not full-blown chaos, though. A few flights to Heathrow haven't yet received the axe from the Copenhagen Airport website. Double-check your flight status before you start losing your cool!

Now, go forth and book alternate flights or grab a jumperoo and make it a staycation. Just stay posted on any changes - and remember to be kind to your fellow travelers, will ya? We're all in this together!
