In the heart of Flensburg-Neustadt, a shop owner is under suspicion for hanging an antisemitic poster in the shop window. The incident, reported by the Schleswig-Holsteinischer Zeitungsverlag on shz.de, has sparked outrage and prompted swift action from local authorities and politicians.

The shop owner, a 60-year-old man, allegedly hung the poster himself on Wednesday afternoon. He justified his actions by referring to the ongoing Gaza conflict. The exact name of the shop owner and the nature of the business remain undisclosed in the available information.

Education Minister Karin Prien (CDU), who has Jewish ancestors, has strongly condemned the incident. She expressed her support for the Jewish community and emphasized that there will be no tolerance for antisemitism in Flensburg, Germany, or anywhere in the world.

"Anyone who expresses and justifies antisemitism stands against democratic coexistence," Prien stated. She further added that she expects a consistent reaction from the authorities.

Felix Klein, the Federal Government's Commissioner for Antisemitism, has also condemned the incident. He stated that this is a clear case of antisemitism and intervention is necessary. Klein welcomed the fact that several citizens had already filed criminal charges on Wednesday and thanked those who had taken action.

The public prosecutor's office is currently investigating whether a criminal offense has been committed. The poster was removed during a police operation on Wednesday around 7 pm.

Minister Prien also thanked those who had already filed charges and expressed her gratitude for the swift action taken by the authorities. She stressed the importance of standing united against hatred and intolerance.

This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against antisemitism and the need for continued vigilance and action. It is a call to all citizens to report such incidents and stand together against hatred and intolerance.
