"Yo, guess what's happening in Astana, eh?"

Space Station Flag WaveHeads up! Flags emblazoned with the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan's (APK) 30th-anniversary emblem and the "Assembly's Youth" logo are about to take a cosmic voyage. These bad boys are set to hitch a ride on the Soyuz MS-27 spacecraft, launching April 8, carrying Roscosmos cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut. The idea comes from the passionate youth of Kyzylorda Region, where the APK youth forum will be held on April 7-8. Participants will witness the launch, and after a year-long space sojourn, the flags will return to Earth.

Peaks and EmblemsIn February, a group of brave Kazakh climbers hoisted the APK emblem atop Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, ahead of Gratitude Day and the APK's anniversary. The expedition, spearheaded by Maxut Zhumayev, a highly respected climber, was backed by the Kazakhstan Mountaineering Federation.

Apkbin' SessionMark your calendars for April 23-24 — that's when the 34th APK session will go down, celebrating the assembly's 30th anniversary.

FYIAlthough there's no mention of space-related activities or mountain expeditions in the upcoming anniversary celebrations as of April 2025, the confirmed events are focused on cultural, sporting, and community-driven initiatives. Additionally, expect more celebrations for the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan (May 1), potentially overlapping with APK anniversary activities.
