Fka Twigs Returns with 'Eusexua', a Six-Year Journey of Resilience and Genre-Blending
Fka Twigs, the multi-talented artist known for her albums 'Lp1' and 'Magdalene', has returned with her third studio album 'Eusexua'. Six years in the making, the album was rebuilt after a leak and features a diverse range of producers, including Koreless as executive producer.
The album opens with the title track, 'Eusexua', setting the theme with insistent beats and hazy synthesizers. Twigs coined the term 'eusexua' to describe a feeling of euphoria and transcendence, which is evident throughout the album.
'Drums of Death' offers a futuristic techno sound with glitches, while 'Keep It, Hold It' builds up to a trance-like explosion. 'Girl Feels Good' explores themes of femininity and strength, reminiscent of Madonna's 'Ray of Light'. The album also includes a heart-wrenching ballad, 'Sticky', which transforms into a digital storm. Twigs' experience with illness has been transformed into art, with introspection serving as a key theme in her music.
With 'Eusexua', Fka Twigs once again demonstrates her versatility as an artist, blending various genres and themes to create a unique and captivating album. The album is a testament to her artistic growth and resilience, as she turned a challenging experience into a powerful body of work.
