Five Arab Nations Back Trump's Gaza Peace Plan
Five Arab nations - Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt - have publicly backed the US peace plan proposed by President Donald Trump to resolve the Gaza conflict. Trump's proposal has also received support from Arab and Muslim countries, with Kazakhstan welcoming the Comprehensive Peace Plan.
Trump's plan, which he has given Hamas 3-4 days to consider, includes several key components. It begins with an immediate ceasefire, followed by a prisoner exchange, and the disarmament of Hamas. Additionally, it calls for a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the establishment of a transitional government.
Hamas, however, has consistently ruled out disarmament and has made its acceptance of the plan conditional upon a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza in exchange for the release of remaining hostages. Despite this, Trump has warned of a 'very sad end' if Hamas rejects the proposal.
The US-backed plan for Gaza, supported by several Arab nations, aims to bring an end to the long-standing conflict. Hamas has indicated it will seriously consider the proposal and provide a response within the given timeframe. The success of the plan remains uncertain, given Hamas' past stance on disarmament.
