Fisherman rescued in turbulent waters near Bang Saen coastline
A 50-year-old fisherman, found himself stranded off the coast of Bang Saen in Chon Buri, was safely rescued after being unable to return to shore due to a rising tide. Residents in the seaside town alerted the authorities at around 6:30 pm on Monday about a man fishing amidst strong waves approximately 150 meters from the shore.
Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered the man on a rocky outcrop and deployed flotation equipment to guide him back to safety. A medical assessment revealed no injuries. The fisherman admitted that he had walked onto the rocky outcrop as the tide receded, but, as the water levels rose rapidly during the evening due to strong winds, he found himself unable to return to shore.
Initially, local residents called out to him to return, but he chose to continue fishing, hoping the tide would soon recede. However, the tide remained high, necessitating the assistance of rescuers. The fisherman confessed his reluctance to leave was due to concerns about his fishing gear.
