Severely Injured Fisherman Rescued from Fishing Boat East of Helgoland - Fisherman rescued after severe hand injury near Heligoland

A fisherman with serious hand injuries was rescued east of Heligoland after an accident at sea. The operation involved multiple emergency teams and took place in difficult weather conditions.

The man's condition has since stabilised after receiving medical care on board and during transport.

The incident occurred on a fishing vessel operating near Heligoland. Details about how the crew member sustained his injuries remain undisclosed.

Rough seas initially delayed the deployment of a rescue helicopter. While waiting for air support, the injured man received first aid on the trawler. He was then transferred to a German Federal Police vessel, where an emergency medical team provided further treatment. A rescue helicopter later airlifted the fisherman to West Coast Hospital in Heide. Meanwhile, the fishing vessel resumed its course to the port of Büsum. Search records show no other recent reports of similar maritime accidents involving severely injured fishermen in the area.

The rescue operation required coordination between maritime police and medical responders. The fisherman is now in stable condition at the hospital. Authorities have not released additional details about the cause of the incident.
