After building up the hype, the first trailer for the follow-up to the hit film musical "Wicked" has finally dropped! With an anticipated release date of November 20, the much-anticipated "Wicked: Part 2" promises an emotional rollercoaster that continues the sorcery-filled story of the rival witches Glinda and Elphaba. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo dive headfirst into their roles as the estranged friends in the fantastical realm of Oz.

The gripping trailer begins with Elphaba, the green-skinned witch (played by Erivo), running for her life. In hot pursuit is her former friend, the seemingly compassionate Glinda (portrayed by Grande). The narrative picks up right where the previous "Wicked" film concluded, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the continuation. By the Emerald City, Elphaba and Glinda meet the enigmatic Wizard of Oz (played by Jeff Goldblum), while Madame Akaber (Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh) once more brands Elphaba as the "wicked witch."

Joining the fray is Jonathan Bailey, who takes on the role of Prince Fiyero, pursuing his old classmate, Elphaba, throughout the story. Familiar scenes between the rival witches, wearing their iconic outfits, are interspersed with conversations that tug at the heartstrings. "Besides you, I never considered a true friend," Elphaba confesses to Glinda. In response, Glinda quips, "I had plenty of friends, but only one that truly mattered."

The original film was a box office juggernaut last year, earning numerous Oscar nominations. The premiere of the second installment is generating immense buzz. Trailer comments have been flooded with expressions of excitement, anticipation, and even tears.

Plot summaries scarce, it seems "Wicked: Part 2" will deliver on the promises of an action-packed adventure while maintaining the heartrending emotional depth essential to the story. Delving deeper into their characters, the dynamic duo will learn to accept each other's flaws and navigate new challenges. Furthermore, the origins of key characters, such as the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Lion, along with Dorothy's role in the story, will be elegantly unraveled.

Under the masterful direction of Jon M. Chu, known for his work on "Crazy Rich Asians," the musical extravaganza boasts the inclusion of iconic songs from the original Broadway production, like "No Good Deed" and "For Good," which are integral to the journey of the two central protagonists.

Stay tuned for more updates on this magical world that has captured the hearts of millions!
